Well here we are. Half a year has passed since Quinn joined our family. Unbelievable! It feels equally as crazy that it's been 6 months since she arrived as it does that she has only been here 6 months. It is so hard to imagine life before she was with us.
6 months has been good. Sleep is going better and we are usually up once or more likely twice a night. She's given us a good, long stretch one night (2-9am... Which I slept all 7 glorious hours as well) which was amazing and such a tease. I can't complain after what we went through around 4 months. That was rough!
Last month I chatted about her naps in the swing... Well we have now transitioned out of the sleepsuit and she takes 2 naps a day in the crib. Sometimes we get a third short cat nap in the evening but not always. If we are out and about she will fall asleep when I wear her but it's never as good a nap as when we are home.
So far, Quinn is showing all the signs for teething but has no teeth. I'm pretty sure I look in her mouth everyday to see if any are there yet. Lol. She chews on pretty much any and everything (just like Logan) and especially loves to put her whole foot in her mouth.
We gave her a few bites of food right before her 6 month check up and she loved it! Wanted to hold and chew on the spoon. She would cry whenever we would take it away! I don't do cereals and just jump right into fruits and veggies. I briefly thought of doing baby led weaning and then got out the blender and started pureeing things up. Lol! I love freezing cubes in the Oxo trays so I can quickly mix up different combinations. She makes the funniest faces while eating which makes this stage oh so fun!
At this point Logan was crawling around, always on the move. So far Quinn is just rolling but she will do this cute shimmy on her back to get to things! It's really funny to watch. She's a little more calm than Logan which gives me hope I won't have to split myself in two to run after them both.
Other than that she loves the water still and has hung out with us a few times when we hit up the beach for the entire day. We were also hanging out in the backyard one hot afternoon watching Logan play in the water table. Before I knew what was happening, he said he wanted to play with Baby Quinn and dumped a cup full of cold water onto her face. I thought she was going to cry but instead just shook it off and continued to kick and coo. She's one tough little cookie! ;)
She's 16 lbs 8oz of cuteness and I feel like the fun is just beginning! Half way to a year and I just know it's going to fly by.

Giveaway with Freshly Picked!
*** Giveaway Closed! Winner has been notified. Thanks to everyone who entered!***
Hey guys, back today with a less serious topic. Shoes! When we found out that baby #2 was a girl, the very first thing I ordered for her was her first pair of Freshly Picked moccasins. Purple of course! We absolutely love these shoes in our household.
When Logan was an infant, I researched baby shoes and came across a lot of information about how babies who are learning to stand/walk should go barefoot or wear soft soled shoes. It helps them to feel the ground while they are learning to walk and they can freely move their feet around. They also provide some protection from anything on the ground, or ground that is too hot or cold.
After trying a few different types on (because lets be real, baby socks never ever stay on feet) I fell in love with the look of the moccasins. They are cute, made of quality leather (or suede) and stay on active little feet. Logan had a pair of camo moccasins that Quinn will wear once she grows into them. But as of now, you can find her cute little toes in these...
Made in the USA, these are by far my favorite first shoes for babies! Once Quinn outgrows her purple (Size 1), our friends at Freshly Picked sent us these Heirloom in Ivory and Chrome (Size 2).
They are honestly so adorable even my husband loves them!
And whats the best news? YOU can WIN a pair too!!!
All you have to do is check out the Freshly Picked website here and leave me a comment letting me know which is your favorite pair.
This contest will close Monday July 20th at noon and the winner will be notified by email.
This giveaway is open to my US readers only... sorry!
Good luck!!!
(If you haven't seen the Shark Tank episode about these moccs, go and watch it! Susan Peterson's story of getting started is a good one!!!)

Quinn- 4 months old
Time flies when you have babies. And then you blink and your newborn is 4 months old. Yikes!
Yesterday we had our 4 month check up and our little girl weighed in at 14lbs, 12 oz. She's got a little belly and the most adorable thigh rolls I've ever seen. She is in 3-6 months clothes and even a few of the smaller 6-9.
Luckily, we have passed through the witching hour phase. A lot of people gave me advice to put her down to sleep earlier and hope she would sleep through it. Not sure what it is about my kids but no one goes to sleep at 6. Both Logan and Quinn have gradually set into a 7:30/8pm bedtime routine. She would treat any earlier as a nap so I just rolled with it as best I could. We also are completely anti- pacifier and it has been a struggle for her to take a bottle (which she has only done twice). I may just hold out and hope she likes sippy cups better...
Sleep is ok. We definitely went through the 3 month growth spurt at the beginning of the month, closely followed by the 4 month sleep regression. We had a week where sleep was pretty much non-existent and she was up every hour or two hours for multiple nights in a row. At this same time, she also started rolling back to belly while swaddled so I am sure that didn't help matters. We had been trying to start her nights in the crib and then she would sleep the second half in either the rock n play or the swing (both set up in her room). After we took the swaddle away, I started putting her in the Magic Sleepsuit (which we used with Logan) in her crib for the entire night. It's been going ok. Most of the time she is up twice a night. Once we had an amazing night where she slept 9-4 and then back down until 7ish. Last night she was up 4 times, talking up a storm in the night. I guess it's a little all over the place. It's been much different than our experience with Logan but she is still so little, I'm trying not to get too obsessed with it. We have also been consuming an obscene amount of coffee over here but that is something I'm ok with right now.
Other than that, things have been great! Quinn is such a happy baby. She loves being around people and is happiest where the action is. We've been toting her around to all of Logan's activities and she just goes with the flow. She smiles a ton, laughs often and loves being snuggled in a carrier.
This past month, we brought up all of our bigger baby toys after Quinn started rolling and getting a little frustrated with laying on the playmat. She has loved both the jumperoo and the exersaucer and even though we have less floor space because of it, I like having more places to set her. However, I still think she is happiest sitting on someones lap. I've also given her some time in the Bumbo. Logan crawled before he sat up and I am really hoping we go the opposite way this time around. I was always jealous of people who could plop their baby down with toys all around them and not have to worry if they looked away for a minute. To be honest, I'm nowhere near ready for two mobile children. ;) And if you are wondering, Logan is still doing fantastic with Quinn. He loves her so much and is so protective of her. When we take them both to the gym daycare he always tells everyone that she is "his baby". He's been growing leaps and bounds himself and I should probably write a post on how much fun two year olds are. ;)
As Quinn has been growing, we are slowly getting little glimpses into her personality. This is absolutely (besides the snuggles and I love you's) my favorite part of Parenthood. I try really hard to let my children be who they are and to learn what they need to grow. She was laying on the playmat trying to roll while Geoff and I watched one afternoon while Logan was sleeping. She would give it her best go and she got stuck with her arm in the way. As she tried her hardest to get past her arm, she was screaming at the top of her lungs. She would pause, breathe and collect herself to try again and again and again. She just didn't give up. We've watched her hardly ever get startled by loud noises, getting hit on the head or almost catapulted off the bed. She took her 3 shots today like a champ and cried for about 4 seconds before she was ok. I think we have a little firecracker on our hands and I can not wait to see what the next few months brings.
Milestones-
Laughing
Found your voice and has been "talking" a ton
Rolled back to belly and belly to back
Moved out of the swaddle
Moved from co-sleeper/rock n play in our room to crib in the nursery
Took first and only bottle

Quinn 10 weeks
My sweet girl Quinn is 10 weeks* new! I had an itching to get back to writing down some of her milestones up to this point, since everything feels a bit blurry in the beginning. I love looking back at Logan's updates too and seeing how similar and different my kids are. :) I also have some thoughts on life with two... but I will save that for another post.
We had our 2 month appointment last week and our little girl weighed in at 12 lbs 2.5 oz. Since she was born at 7lbs 12oz, I think she is growing just great. We are in 0-3 month clothing and starting to move into 3-6 month clothes as well. I'll be moving her into size 2 diapers after we finish this pack of 1's. We are breastfeeding again and this time around has been a much easier start and way less painful for me. That's been a huge relief. She got her first round of immunizations, which she was not happy about. It definitely affected her more than they did for Logan.
Quinn has been a pretty chill baby for the most part... that is until we get into the early evening hours (around dinner)... the "witching hour". I don't really remember Logan being as discontent each evening, but I could have just blocked those memories from my mind. Who knows!
But during the day and especially in the morning, she is so happy. We can set her down on her playmat and she will happily bat and kick at the hanging toys for a good 20 minutes. She's happy sleeping in her swing and her awake time is anywhere from 1- 1 and 1/2 hours before she gets overtired.
As true second child fashion, we have been out and about a lot. Mostly its running errands or out at play groups/gymnastics/museums trips for Logan and his friends. You can mainly find Quinn snoozing in the carseat or being worn in my boba wrap. My friend Laura had her second (a girl as well) 3 weeks before me. We joke that they will have to be best friends because they are already always hanging out (aka Sleeping or lying on the floor) together.
We've been getting smiles for quite sometime and it is just as amazing as the first time around. I can't wait until we get straight out laughs from her. Those are the best!!!
Sleep has been ok. It's not horrible but not great. Most nights she is getting up twice at night to eat. Once around 12 or 1 and then again around 3 or 4. A few nights she has been up every 2 hours... yikes!
As of now, she is sleeping in a co-sleeper in our room. We are waiting for a few more weeks to set up her crib and then we will think of moving her into her room. We didn't do this earlier because we had people in town to help and her room is where they slept.
Some nights, we can bring her into our bed at the 3/4am wake up and she will go back to sleep without eating. I really think she just likes to be warm and snuggled. She loves when it's with Geoff the most. They are so cute together and I have a million photos of them sleeping already.
I looked back and by 2 months in, Logan was down to one wake up most nights and had already give us a 10-5 stretch. I'm trying not to compare too much and just enjoying my morning cup of coffee while looking forward to more sleep in the future. ;)
She really is just the sweetest baby I have ever met and Logan already adores her. The transition from one to two was a bit crazy and I have my moments of feeling completely overwhelmed... but all in all, I have really enjoyed it. It's crazy but the moment Quinn arrived, I knew she was a perfect fit for our family. It has really just felt right!
2 months memories-
First outing with just mom and babies- 1 week old at a playdate
Celebrated Chinese New Year, Valentines Day, Baba's Birthday and First St. Patricks Day
First cold... so sad! :(
Quinn currently likes:
Being held, worn, snuggled
Being swaddled- however she is getting strong and starting to bust out of them.
White noise
Bath time!- this is different from Logan as he took a while to enjoy a nice bath.
Her dislikes:
Pacifiers (womp, womp)
being alone
hiccups
*I had this mostly written last week and took me until now to get this posted. So, technically we are 11 weeks in. lol.

Welcome to the family Quinn!
So it's been a while since I've visited my little space here. Sorry... we've been busy!
Our little Quinn joined our family on 1/14/15 at 1:26am. She made a quick entry into the world (4 hr labor) and we've been on a wild ride ever since. She came out screaming and man does this little one have a set of lungs on her! She was 7 lbs and 12 oz, 20 inches long.
Logan is doing a great job transitioning into his role of big brother and loves her so so much! Their first meeting in the hospital went so well. He gave her kisses, snuggled with me and then wanted to eat all the pudding and jello we would give him.
If you want to see lots of photos... hop on over to my Instagram- Friendlyskys.
I'll be back at some point to recap a few things but I am not promising a regular schedule of blogging anytime soon. I'm trying to soak up as much of this itty bitty baby stage as possible. :)

Happy Valentines Day!
Along with most of the East coast, we are currently getting snowed in today. We've been enjoying the day by watching Olympics, taking naps, lounging in our pjs and playing all afternoon... it's been quite nice!
I just wanted to pop in and wish everyone a Happy Valentines Day tomorrow.
Our friend had another holiday party for all the babies/toddlers in our moms group and had this cute little photo setup for us to take some festive photographs. :) Logan spent all of 60 seconds sitting and I was able to quickly snap away. This was our best shot. :)
Hope you get lots of snuggles with your loved ones this weekend!

Day in the life- 13 month old.
Well, hope everyone enjoyed (those who actually took the time to read, thanks!) yesterdays post. You can get a clear picture of how much life changes, and stays the same, in a short 6 months! Here was our day yesterday- which was a pretty typical Monday.
We start our day at 8am. Geoff is on a trip, so it's just Logan and myself. I am trying to be more of a morning person and wake up earlier but I need my energy today as the sole parent so I'm still in bed when I hear him start to play on the monitor. I drag myself out of bed and downstairs, start coffee, heat up some milk and head upstairs to get Logan. He is playing in his crib. He turns on the aquarium, throws animals and blankets on the floor (if he didn't already before falling asleep) and once I come in we play a few rounds of peekaboo before I lift him out.
He sleeps in a Halo early walkers sleeper which is so big it's funny. I change his diaper (which he is not happy about) and we head downstairs. He gets milk on the couch while I scroll through blogs until he is done.
I let him play for a bit while I make breakfast. Usually this is his time to walk around (his new favorite activity) and whine at my feet. Totally understandable, we are both hungry. I try and hold him while I finish up and then we both sit down to eat. Today I have oatmeal while he has a waffle, some blueberries, bites of my oatmeal and half a pear.
Geoff calls, so we FaceTime for a bit before he gets ready for work. It's always nice when we can catch him when Logan is awake and we are home.
I sip my coffee and watch him until he lets me know he is done (throws food on the floor or hides it next to him in the seat) if there is anything left. He is a mess today so I wipe him down (actually take off his PJ's) and the let him down to play. I always try and tell Logan what we are doing next and I find I say the same thing everyday a lot.
"Mama is going to clean up breakfast now and then I'll be in to play with you"
We have a good groove going, Logan walks/crawls into the dining room-which right now is sans furniture and full of toys- to play independently while I actually get to clean up breakfast and put away dishes.
I come join him and we play for a bit before heading upstairs. I get ready for our day while he hangs out in our room. While I shower, he hangs out in a walker watching a few minutes of Sesame Street. I try and keep tv to a minimum but when he does watch it, it's either Sesame Street or Baby Einstein (total life saver when you really need to do something- aka shower). I still have to have him somewhat contained to keep him safe since he loves to explore everything nowdays.
Once I'm done, it's his turn. This takes much longer because he likes to stop in the third bedroom to play for a while before finally going into his own room. (Yes, our whole house is covered in toys. haha.)
I pretty much dress him while he is moving around. So much easier than the wrestling match that occurs if I try and lay him down on his back.
11:30 we get into the car and head to a MyGym class. Today a lot of kids are sick so it's actually just Logan and his friend Paige. They have so much fun today playing with all the setups. MyGym is a really fun class with songs, dances and activities. It takes him a little bit to warm up but each time we go, I think he enjoys it more and more.
Once we get home, it is a race to the nursery- this kid is tired! Diaper change, milk and then into the crib for his nap. He is down by 1:20. We have been going back and forth from one nap a day- back to two. Three days a week we have activities in the morning (Mygym, playdates and moms group) so those days we are forced into one nap. Soon I'll be adding on swim lessons so I think one nap will be more common for us.
I head downstairs, make myself lunch and relax on the couch. I watch Silver Linings Playbook for a little while. After about an hour, I clean up lunch and start tackling more items on my to-do list. I try and switch up what I do each day relax/productivity just in case his nap is short, I don't feel like I never get to relax or tackle some chores.
Up at 4:15. I hear him start to make noises and a quick check on the monitor tells me he is playing with Scout in his crib. I finish an email, race up stairs to change and go in to get him. That was a great nap!
Next is a late lunch. Logan eats while I prep dinner. We clean up and I get him back into his coat and shoes to head to the gym.
We get there about 6pm and Logan immediately crawls off and starts playing. This is the first time he hasn't really cried when I've dropped him off myself. Progress! I stop in to an abs class (killer) and then do a Leg's day set. He is happily running around and doing downward dogs when I go in to get him. We bundle back up and head back home.
At home, I quickly make Logan a grilled cheese. I'm having tofu, asparagus and quinoa (which he will have leftovers for dinner tomorrow). He eats while I cook. I turn his highchair around so he can watch what I'm doing. I hate when we don't get to eat together but evenings when I am feeling rushed, there really isn't any way around it.
We head up for a bath around 8pm. He splashes around while I try and clean him up. Pj's are on and it's bottle time- which he completely refuses. We brush his teeth, sing our goodnight song and he's in his crib before 8:30. I hear and watch him play until around 9pm.
It's time for me to eat... around 9 I sit down, enjoy dinner and watch a little bit of the Bachelor.
I'm still awake organizing my closet when I hear Geoff pull in a little after 10:30. I head downstairs and make us both a hot chocolate while we tell each other about our days. I think I get to sleep around midnight (oops.) and sleep until we hear Logan again at 8am this morning.
That is it! Our day in a nutshell. If you've made it to here... thanks for reading. :)

Day in the Life- 7 months. (Yup, super late post here)
*okay, here I go again. Here's the deal... I was cleaning up my email and my blog space when I noticed I had a few drafts never published. Low an behold, there is a day in the life from when Logan was around 7 months old. It was amazing to me how I can still remember those days but how different things are now. So, I'm posting it, without photos. Tomorrow I will post what our life looks like today with a ton of photos to make up for it, haha.*
I always love reading "day in the life" posts on other blogs. I don't know why, really. Maybe it's the same fascination as reality tv... feeling like you get a glimpse into how someone else spends their time in another part of the world... It's also nice to get new ideas of things to do with my little man when it is just the two of us.
Since we just traveled to Seattle for two weeks and are re-adjusting to the eastern time zone, I thought I would document our day today (Wednesday) and just note that our times for sleep and naps are a little off what our day normally looks like.
8am- Logan wakes us. Sometimes he will turn on the music to the mobile and entertain himself for a while, other times he starts yelling for us right away. Geoff is home so he lets me sleep in just a little longer and gets up with Logan for some boy bonding time.
He feeds Logan a bottle of milk, changes him and then they play in the family room.
9am- I smell the coffee brewing and head out to join the family. Geoff is about to feed Logan some yogurt for breakfast and I pour myself a cup of coffee and make breakfast. We all eat.
9:30am- Logan crawls around the floor while we watch him and chat about what we need to get done before we head to Seattle.
10am- Mornings are like clockwork over here. Two hours after Logan gets up, he is back down for a nap. This is the most reliable part of our day as afternoon naps are hit and miss. We change him, take him into his nursery and down he goes in his swing. (We had been trying to transition him into naps in the crib but he naps so well in his swing that we are just going with it until he outgrows it. That will be a sad sad day.)
Geoff finishes getting ready for work while I clean up the kitchen. If I were home alone, this is when I either workout, shower or attempt to do both.
11:45am- Logan wakes up. I feed him, change him and get ready to head out for a bit.
12:30pm- We head out the door. Mom's group is only a 5 minute drive but I run through Starbucks drive thru for an iced tea for group. I pretty much only get Starbucks when I'm headed to group so it's my weekly treat.
1pm- We sit around with all the other mom's and babies and chat. Logan crawls, gives other babies kisses and finally takes a short mini nap while I bounce him. Since he is home with me everyday, I like to get him around other kids as often as possible. It also helps me to meet other moms and make friends. I love my weekly mom's group!
4pm- We leave and head back home for a proper nap. I nurse Logan, we have a small snack of peaches and he is back down for a nap. This time I throw on some workout clothes and attempt to start my daily Insanity workout.
5:15- Logan is awake. I head in to get him, change him and out we go into the living room. I place him in his Exersaucer while I vaccum, prep dinner quickly and finish up a little stretching.
We call my mom and dad on Facetime and have a nice chat with them. Usually this time in the evening we go for a walk or into the pool, however, today was one of the hottest days of summer so I am not taking him out in the heat.
7- We both eat dinner. Logan has some avocados while I eat chicken with sweet potato (I cooked two and mashed one up for him to eat tomorrow). We clean up and head in for Logan's bath. Logan now loves bath time so we splish and splash in the tub for a while. After he is done, I quickly dry him off and he gets into his pjs.
After a little fun of rolling around the bed in his room, we snuggle into the rocker for one last nursing session. He falls asleep after 10 minutes and I quietly place him in his crib and tip toe out.
He is usually down for the night anywhere between 7:30 and 9pm depending on our day. I finish cleaning up dinner, prep the kitchen for breakfast and collapse on the couch for a little while.
11pm- Waaaaay too late, I drag myself to bed. Logan is still getting up around once a night to nurse and then back down until 8. I look at a few photos that we took today on my phone and off to sleep I go... ready to do it all again tomorrow.

Thirteen Months
*Disclaimer... I had this written right around 13 months and I have kinda neglected my blog. oops. So, I'm publishing this late and a few things have changed since I've written this. I was going through old posts for info on what Logan was doing each month for his baby book I'm making now. I skipped a few months in the beginning and I was a little mad at myself for it... not going to do that this time around. ha ha. :)
Well, here we are again at 13 months. So lets get right into it.
Logan has been cruising along furniture and with his walkers for a while now. This month he has started standing on his own. He is really steady on his feet and can let go already standing and get up off the ground on his own. He holds objects, claps but he will not take a step yet. He is a really fast crawler so I'm not sure when he will take off walking. My prediction is he will go straight to running! I'm actually enjoying watching him develop so in my mind, there is no rush for him to take those first steps just yet... but I have a feeling they will be soon. ;) (The week after I wrote this, he was up and walking... go figure!)
I've been attempting to read to Logan for months. First his books were chew toys, then he just liked to throw them off the shelves. This month, he will grab a book and come crawling over to us wanting to read them. It is awesome! Now, we don't always get through the book (but sometimes we do) usually we will get through a few pages and off he will crawl wanting us to chase him around. I always let him turn each page so sometimes I am reading really fast as we go. Right now, favorite three we read are Brown Bear, Brown Bear, Goodnight Moon and the Little Blue Truck. Almost have them both down by heart.
I have a feeling that we have quite the social butterfly on our hands. Logan loves being around people, especially when they are paying attention to him. He's shown a little bit of separation anxiety, like when we drop him off at the gym he will cry and reach out to us... before we are all the way out the door if I peek back, he's completely fine. When we head to my moms group or have play dates with our friends, Logan loves to crawl over and give hugs and kisses. It's extremely cute.
He is developing at such a fast pace right now. We are babbling all the time and he will repeat after us. He signs a few signs (mainly milk which really means all drinks) and we have Mama, Baba and sometimes Bah bye as words. (The other day, we were face timing with Geoff while he was at work. As we said goodbye, Logan said bah bye and waved at Geoff.) He waves, claps, dances, points at everything, loves to practice with his fork or spoon but he does everything on his own terms. He already has such a distinct personality.
Right now, he loves to stack and unstack, take things out of bins and put them back in and throw everything on the floor. This is especially fun during meals, during bath time and when he goes to sleep. Every morning we walk into his room and find all of his toys and blankets that were in the crib are now on the floor. We got him his own little chair (Pottery Barn Kids oversized chair... I'm obsessed) and he looooooves to climb in and out of it or stand on it and look out the window.
Night time sleep is the same (good). Naps, well...that is another issue. Some days he takes two which we prefer, other days he takes one and spends the second one yelling at us from his crib. We will give him some time to see if he settles himself and if he doesn't we will get him up and then just try for an earlier bedtime. On the occasional lucky day he will takes an epic afternoon nap (the other day it was 3.5 hours long). I feel like we are working down to one nap but I'm trying to keep it at two right now... I really don't know why and I think I'm fighting a loosing battle... anyone have any wisdom on naps for this age? Bedtime is usually 7:30-8 and he sleeps until 8-8:30 which I know is amazing. He usually isn't cranky at bedtime, regardless of naps, unless he's teething so again... I am counting my blessings but still stress on making sure he is well rested. I will take any advice on this issue... have any?
Other than that, we are teething some molars over here. They were peeking through the gums at his 12 month appointment. (Shots can be tragic, but they are also a great time to check out the teeth situation.) That mean, everything is back to going into the mouth. The trampoline bar is such a favorite that we had to wrap fun colored duct tape around it- still didn't stop him. He also loves to chew and take bites out of our furniture corner bumpers. Probably something he should not be eating... yikes!
Every month that I write these updates... I think it can't get any better... but it continually does. As always, I am completely enjoying this stage in my sons life and I feel so so blessed that I get to spend the majority of my time with this fun little guy. (January- I went into work twice. I feel so lucky.)

Cake Smash Photo Session.
Cake smash sessions are one of those things that people either love or hate.
It's ok to hate them. We have tried our best from the start to give Logan healthy foods- mainly veggies and fruits carefully watching his salt and sugar intake. I've made a lot of the foods he eats and always think about what I can order to share with him while we are out at restaurants. So the thought of giving a baby a whole (small cake) to smash, eat and play with is kind of a weird concept.
With that said, I am going to admit that I fully side with the people that Loves them! There is something really special about watching a kids curiosity turn into pure delight when they are given the freedom to experience something new. Taste, texture, the feel of cake in between fingers and toes... it's so messy but so much fun.
Years ago, I worked in a portrait studio (before my flight attendant gig) and I was so happy whenever someone would book a cake smash session and I would get to shoot it. So, after having Logan, I just knew we were going to do this!
I baked and decorated our cake the night before. I set up everything in the morning... after breakfast but before the first nap. This way he was not starving but not full and happily awake playing. We dressed him and when I was ready, Geoff set him down in place while I snapped away.
Once we were done taking photos, we stripped him down and plopped him right in the bath to wash up. That is the beauty of being able to set up in my own home.
We had a great time watching him explore and destroy this cake. I wasn't too sure how it was going to go since he really only played with the icing of his cake at his party. Some kids dive right in and others don't like the mess... but that is the beauty of these shoots, every kids reacts differently.
*If you are in the NH area and would like to book a session with me, I would be happy to chat with you. Send me an email and feel free to check out my website Megan Ho Photography for more of my work.
