So imagine this- you are relaxing in your seat after take off, coke and peanuts in hand and you hear a "Ding". You know this is the seat belt sign ding and you can now get up and stretch those legs that are crammed in the small seats. You don't even need to look up to see you are right but, you do anyways, and what you see is not that the seat belt sign has gone off, but instead the no smoking sign...
This is what one row experienced on my plane today. I'm not sure if I would have noticed- but they sure did. They jokingly asked me if smoking was now allowed on the plane. Only in your row, was my quick witted response. Hopefully it doesn't confuse the next passengers... or the next Flight Attendant. :)
