Pool time with Babyganics Pure Mineral Sunscreen

One of the great parts of living in an apartment is having access to a pool! In the summertime here in the northeast, it is not only hot, but humid!!! Usually, I could power through a hot afternoon, but this year it is a little different with Logan. I have to think about covering his baby skin from the sun and making sure he is getting enough fluids so he isn't dehydrated. We tend to stay indoors on really hot afternoons for now- unless we are taking a dip in the water.

We are a quick walk over to the pool, so the other day we got Logan dressed and covered in BabyGanics sunscreen, grabbed our bag full of pool supplies and headed on over. It was a beautiful sunny day and the water had that crisp chill feel to it.
Since this was our first attempt in a pool, we stuck his feet in first to get him used to the cooler water before sitting him down. It took him a few minutes before he started splashing and kicking but all in all- I think he liked it.

Our first time in the pool was a success and we certainly had a good time cooling off as well. We didn't stay in the water too long because we didn't want Logan to get too cold.

It's no surprise that I have light skin that burns easily and even though Logan seems to have a good mix of the two of us, I am still worried that he will burn like me. The last thing I ever want is my baby to go through a skin cancer scare like I did. Babyganics sent us their new Cover Up Baby Pure Mineral Sunscreen, SPF 30 to test out. I applied it to both Logan and myself to make sure it didn't let me burn. We have used it quite a few times and I am pretty happy with it. No burns on either of us, it applies easily and didn't leave us feeling greasy.
I already own the Cover-Up Baby Natural Sunscreen Stick SPF 50+
and is easy to carry and apply when we are out and about. (I've found that when Logan is in the BOB stroller, he can be completely shaded except for his feet. I keep this stick with me so his little toes don't burn. I can also quickly apply it to parts of my face or shoulders as well.)
The EWR has rated this new sunscreen a 3. Babyganics, in my opinion, is your best bet for an affordable and easy to purchase sunscreen (carried at Babies R Us and Buy Buy Baby). After looking through the ingredients listed, I felt very comfortable putting this on Logan and myself. Added bonus- it's made here in the USA!
