The rest of Iceland (part 2)

For our next full day in Iceland, we originally had planned for another all day adventure of horseback riding and caving. However, two things happened... first the booking got messed up and half of the tour was sold out. No biggie, there were others to choose from! Then we looked at the weather forecast- rain and cold. So we decided to just stay around town, hang out and eat! :) (The second photo down in is our boys getting the "best hotdogs in Iceland".)

That night we had dinner reservations at Prir Frakkar.
We decided to try some interesting foods available in Iceland- shark, puffin, horse, whale... we ate it all!

We woke up our last morning, finished packing and checked out of our nice hotel. We caught our bus towards the airport with a long stop at The Blue Lagoon! This was very high on my list of things I wanted to do in my lifetime. We arrived a few minutes before they opened so a few busloads of people stood around waiting to get in the warm water. We got our tickets, a towel and robe and headed on into the locker rooms. Quickly we all changed, rinsed off and headed into the lagoon. The scene was magical, the water warm and wonderful and the company was of course great! We stayed in the water for a few hours, had lunch and finally headed off to the airport to go home. Geoff and I were lucky enough to celebrate six months of marriage at the Lagoon... halfway through the first year and it just gets better and better!
