2009 look back!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Years... I was off... hence the lack of blogs. I am sorry for neglecting to wish everyone a Happiness over the Holidays. I was finally able to make it home to Cincinnati to celebrate my birthday and Christmas with the family. Then Geoff and I were off and in NYC for New Years. It was a great way to end the year and start 2010. I have high hopes for this year... 2009 was a hard year especially since both Geoff and I had a few scares that we would be furloughed... but we managed to make it through the year with both our jobs! :)

I thought I would do a quick look back at some of the best moments of 2009. I feel very fortunate to have such great readers, fellow bloggers, tweeters and Flight Attendants that I have met this year online. You guys are amazing!!! Everytime I think maybe I shouldn't be online so much- something wonderful happens that makes my day and I feel lucky about having met you all.

I have set up a few Goals for 2010 instead of Resolutions which sounds so set in stone. I have really learned that life isn't about the Goals you set, but the road to those goals. Sometimes you have to re-asses along the way to make sure that what you are going for is something you really want. I'm sharing my #1 goal with you all...

#1. Was to get into better shape and improve overall health- so to make sure that this happens I signed up for my first full Marathon in May, The Flying Pig in Cincinnati. Not only will I have a rigorous running schedule until the race, this will keep me watching what I eat to fuel my runs and also force me to also get proper sleep. All around I feel like this will be a wonderful experience to start the year. Hard, but I am sure it will be worth it in the end.

What are your Goals for the year?

------------------------------------------

2009-
Best trips I took
1.) Sydney... It was a hard decision but this is my favorite place in the world.
2.) Thailand (both times) Good and cheap food and massages... it's just heaven admist a busy city.
3.) Bahama's cruise
4.) Edmonton- I loved hanging out with Geoff's family and getting to know where he grew up!
5.) FRIPP with the Girls!
6.) Exploring NYC- Not really a "trip" but a life move. :) Still counts in my book.

Best passenger I met on the plane
This goes hands down to the family I met traveling from Montreal to JFK. Thier son had been in a car accident and was now unable to move any part of his body besides his eyes. It took us a while to figure out how to get him into the seat and all strapped in since he was really tall and couldn't hold his head up. His mom and dad had so much love for him. They were taking him to Africa where some of his cousins lived because it had been his dream to go. He could only sit up for 5 hours at a time before having to lay down again. His mom told me they had to go because you never know what kind of miracles can happen. I was so moved by this family- I will never forget you!

Things I am proud of myself for
1.) Getting good grades in my classes
2.) Running the half marathon
3.) Taking part time in stride and getting myself health insurance
4.) Not giving up when things get tough!
5.) The wedding and photo shoots I shot and getting my website up.

Things I feel lucky for
1.) My Family- we all made it through the year in good health
2.) My Friends- they are amazing
3.) My friends and their babies- I had 6 friends pregnant last year and all had healthy easy births... yay!
4.) Still having a JOB!
5.) Geoff- He's my bestfriend
6.) My fellow blogger friends and Flight Attendants... (That means YOU) It's nice knowing I'm not alone out there!!!

It's nice to know that even though I thought 2009 was a hard and frustrating year- I can look back and see a lot of good come out of it in the end. :) Here's to 2010 starting off GREAT and continuing that way.

Oh and since I am finally putting together my China book, here are two funny photos I just found. I love these!!!

I love that picture of you on the Great Wall! You've accomplished lots in 2009... congrats! Good luck with your marathon training. I really should take up running again. I haven't made any "goals" for 2010... maybe it's about time. :) Enjoy New York!
