Quinn- 4 months old

Time flies when you have babies. And then you blink and your newborn is 4 months old. Yikes!

Yesterday we had our 4 month check up and our little girl weighed in at 14lbs, 12 oz. She's got a little belly and the most adorable thigh rolls I've ever seen. She is in 3-6 months clothes and even a few of the smaller 6-9.
Luckily, we have passed through the witching hour phase. A lot of people gave me advice to put her down to sleep earlier and hope she would sleep through it. Not sure what it is about my kids but no one goes to sleep at 6. Both Logan and Quinn have gradually set into a 7:30/8pm bedtime routine. She would treat any earlier as a nap so I just rolled with it as best I could. We also are completely anti- pacifier and it has been a struggle for her to take a bottle (which she has only done twice). I may just hold out and hope she likes sippy cups better...
Sleep is ok. We definitely went through the 3 month growth spurt at the beginning of the month, closely followed by the 4 month sleep regression. We had a week where sleep was pretty much non-existent and she was up every hour or two hours for multiple nights in a row. At this same time, she also started rolling back to belly while swaddled so I am sure that didn't help matters. We had been trying to start her nights in the crib and then she would sleep the second half in either the rock n play or the swing (both set up in her room). After we took the swaddle away, I started putting her in the Magic Sleepsuit (which we used with Logan) in her crib for the entire night. It's been going ok. Most of the time she is up twice a night. Once we had an amazing night where she slept 9-4 and then back down until 7ish. Last night she was up 4 times, talking up a storm in the night. I guess it's a little all over the place. It's been much different than our experience with Logan but she is still so little, I'm trying not to get too obsessed with it. We have also been consuming an obscene amount of coffee over here but that is something I'm ok with right now.
Other than that, things have been great! Quinn is such a happy baby. She loves being around people and is happiest where the action is. We've been toting her around to all of Logan's activities and she just goes with the flow. She smiles a ton, laughs often and loves being snuggled in a carrier.
This past month, we brought up all of our bigger baby toys after Quinn started rolling and getting a little frustrated with laying on the playmat. She has loved both the jumperoo and the exersaucer and even though we have less floor space because of it, I like having more places to set her. However, I still think she is happiest sitting on someones lap. I've also given her some time in the Bumbo. Logan crawled before he sat up and I am really hoping we go the opposite way this time around. I was always jealous of people who could plop their baby down with toys all around them and not have to worry if they looked away for a minute. To be honest, I'm nowhere near ready for two mobile children. ;) And if you are wondering, Logan is still doing fantastic with Quinn. He loves her so much and is so protective of her. When we take them both to the gym daycare he always tells everyone that she is "his baby". He's been growing leaps and bounds himself and I should probably write a post on how much fun two year olds are. ;)
Don't worry, we didn't leave her unattended.
As Quinn has been growing, we are slowly getting little glimpses into her personality. This is absolutely (besides the snuggles and I love you's) my favorite part of Parenthood. I try really hard to let my children be who they are and to learn what they need to grow. She was laying on the playmat trying to roll while Geoff and I watched one afternoon while Logan was sleeping. She would give it her best go and she got stuck with her arm in the way. As she tried her hardest to get past her arm, she was screaming at the top of her lungs. She would pause, breathe and collect herself to try again and again and again. She just didn't give up. We've watched her hardly ever get startled by loud noises, getting hit on the head or almost catapulted off the bed. She took her 3 shots today like a champ and cried for about 4 seconds before she was ok. I think we have a little firecracker on our hands and I can not wait to see what the next few months brings.
